Who Is Mekai Curtis?

Mekai Curtis is an American actor and voice artist from New Jersey. His full name is Mekai Matthew Curtis, and he started working in entertainment when most kids his age were still figuring out what they wanted to be.

Over the years, he has played the funny best friend, voiced an animated character and led a serious television drama. That`s quite a range for someone who is still in his twenties.

IMDb lists him for projects like Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and Milo Murphy`s Law. But the role that changed everything was the lead in the Starz series Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Mekai Curtis Age and Birthday

Mekai Curtis was born on October 14, 2000. That makes him 25 years old today, and his birthday is just around the corner. Soon he`ll be 26.

He`s a Libra, the sign people often link with charm, balance and a creative streak. You don`t have to believe in astrology to smile at that. It does fit someone who moves so easily between light comedy and heavy drama.

His birth date is confirmed by both Wikipedia and IMDb. A few profiles, like The City Celeb, say he was born in Neptune City, New Jersey. Others keep it simple and just say New Jersey.

Mekai Curtis Early Life

Picture a busy home in New Jersey with five kids running around. Mekai was the oldest of them all.

Being the eldest probably taught him a few things early. How to take responsibility, how to set an example and how to hold his own in a loud house. We can`t know for sure, but it`s easy to imagine.

What we do know is that he was drawn to performing from a young age. He also fell in love with music, especially drumming, and that passion never really left. In an interview with The Knockturnal, he talked about life beyond his famous role and his love of music.

His first steps in the industry were small. TV Insider notes that he began as a child on television and in commercials. One of his earliest listed jobs was a holiday ad for a big retailer.

Nobody writes headlines about jobs like that. Still, they matter. They teach a kid how a set works, how to hit a mark and how to listen to a director.

Mekai Curtis Education

Mekai Curtis is a high school graduate, as listed by NewsUnzip. There`s no public record of him going to college.

Think about what his school days might have looked like. Homework on one side, auditions and filming days on the other. Balancing both is hard for any teenager, and harder when your job involves memorizing lines.

He hasn`t shared many stories from those years, so we won`t invent any. What matters is that he finished school and then gave acting everything he had.

Mekai Curtis Parents

Mekai`s parents are Paul Curtis and Hadassah Curtis, according to The City Celeb.

His father is described as an entrepreneur and entertainment professional. He`s also credited with sparking Mekai`s love of music and drumming. That`s a lovely gift to hand down to a son.

His mother is described as someone who has backed her children`s creative and artistic dreams. Behind most young performers, there`s a parent driving to auditions and waiting in parking lots. It sounds like that was true here too.

Both parents stay out of the spotlight. They rarely show up in the media, so there isn`t much more to share, and that`s fine.

Mekai Curtis Siblings and Family Life

Mekai is the eldest of five siblings. Sources describe the home as close and supportive.

His brothers and sisters live quietly and away from cameras. Because they`re private individuals, this article doesn`t list their names. It`s a small gesture of respect, and honestly, they deserve that.

Family seems to be his anchor. Even as his fame grew, he kept home life mostly to himself. In a world where everything gets posted, that says something.

Mekai Curtis Height and Weight

Mekai Curtis stands about 5 feet 5¼ inches tall, or 1.66 meters, according to IMDb. A few smaller sites round it to 5 feet 5 inches.

Here`s the funny part. On screen, he doesn`t feel like a short man. He feels like someone you shouldn`t cross. Presence has little to do with inches, and he proves it.

What about his weight? There`s no official number. He hasn`t shared it in interviews, and no reliable source has confirmed it. Any figure you see floating around the internet is almost certainly a guess, so it`s best to leave it as unknown.

Mekai Curtis Career Journey

The Early Years

Every career has a quiet beginning, and his was no different. He appeared as a young child in HBO`s Sex and the City. Later he turned up in the revival of Arrested Development.

Neither role made him famous. But being in professional rooms that early gave him something money can`t buy, which is experience.

A Voice in Disney`s World

His first feature film credit was a voice role as Paul in Disney`s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Rotten Tomatoes lists it among his early work.

Voice acting is trickier than it sounds. You have to build a whole person using only sound. No face, no body language, just your voice. He handled it well.

Kirby Buckets and Milo Murphy`s Law

Then came the roles that made him familiar to younger viewers. He played "Fish" Fisher on the Disney XD comedy Kirby Buckets for around 59 episodes. He also voiced Zack Underwood on the animated series Milo Murphy`s Law for about 40 episodes.

Along the way, he popped up on Girl Meets World and Overnights too. You can see these credits on Apple TV and Famous Birthdays.

Spending years on a long running comedy is a gift for a young actor. You get steady work, a crew that feels like family and endless chances to improve. It was the perfect training ground for what came next.

Mekai Curtis as Kanan Stark

Then everything changed. Mekai was cast as Kanan Stark in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Deadline reported the news when the series was first announced.

Think about the weight of that. Kanan was first played by 50 Cent, who is also an executive producer on the show. Stepping into a role that famous means every fan is watching, ready to compare.

The story is set in Queens during the nineties. It follows young Kanan as he gets pulled into the drug game while helping his mother`s growing business. Patina Miller plays his mother, Raquel "Raq" Thomas, and fans adore her performance.

Mekai appeared in 48 episodes, according to Wikipedia. Over that time, he showed a side many Disney fans never saw coming. His Kanan was quiet, watchful and a little scary, in a way that felt real.

For many viewers, that role rewrote the story. He wasn`t just the funny kid from a Disney show anymore. He was a leading man, and he earned it.

What Is Next for Mekai Curtis

Mekai has signed with the talent agency APA. In Hollywood, that`s usually a sign that people expect big things.

IMDb News reports that he`ll reprise his role in Power: Origins. So the character who made him famous isn`t going away just yet.

Still, fans are curious about what else he might do. After living inside one character for so long, an actor often wants to try something completely different. A comedy, a film or even something built around his love of music wouldn`t be a surprise.

Mekai Curtis Wife and Relationship Status

Let`s answer the question everyone asks. Mekai Curtis is not married, and he does not have a wife. People looked into the real life relationships of the Raising Kanan cast, and it lists him as single.

He keeps his love life very quiet. Rumors have linked him to co stars, including Hailey Kilgore, but those reports have been confirmed as untrue.

Honestly, that`s refreshing. When you`re in the public eye, keeping something just for yourself is a kind of luxury. Until he decides to share more, it`s smart to take any dating gossip with a pinch of salt.

Does Mekai Curtis Have Kids?

No public information suggests that Mekai Curtis has children. He hasn`t mentioned a child in interviews, and nothing on his social media points that way.

He`s also unmarried and very private, so any other claim would just be speculation.

Mekai Curtis Net Worth

So, how much is Mekai Curtis worth? His estimated net worth is around $3 million, according to The City Celeb.

You might see different numbers online, and that can be confusing. Celebs Money lists about $2 million. Some other sites go as high as $4 million or even $5 million.

Why such a gap? Actors don`t publish their bank statements. Websites guess based on roles, how long a show ran and typical industry pay, so the results change from place to place.

A figure near $3 million sits comfortably in the middle. It makes sense for a working actor who spent years in television and then led a major series.

Mekai Curtis Sources of Income

Acting on Television and Film

Acting is his main source of income. Leading a long running Starz drama paid far more than his earlier jobs, and returning to the Power universe should keep that going.

Voice Acting and Animation

His voice work, including Milo Murphy`s Law, added to his earnings. Voice roles are a smart way for actors to stay busy between on screen projects.

Endorsements and Collaborations

He also earns from brand partnerships, commercial appearances and media features. As his fame grew, brands naturally wanted to work with him.

Put it all together, and you can see how a young actor built a comfortable career in one of the toughest industries around.

Mekai Curtis on Social Media

Mekai is active on Instagram, where he shares little windows into his work and his world. Fans get behind the scenes moments, promotions for his projects and the occasional personal touch.

He tends to talk about his work more than his private life. That matches everything else we know about him.

He also seems to enjoy connecting with fans. For an actor who started so young, many of those fans have grown up watching him.
